FRIDAY NIGHT - RICCARDO ROMANO LAND

Riccardo Romano is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter, keyboardist of the Steve Rothery Band since 2014 and co-founder of the Italian progressive rock band Ranestrane.

His project Riccardo Romano Land was born in 2017 with the intention of creating a common thread between songwriting and progressive rock. Riccardo has also released two solo albums in the form of rock opera/concept.

The first was B612 (2017), a work inspired by the book “The Little Prince” by Antoine De Saint-Exupery, in which Steve Hogarth, Steve Rothery, Jennifer Rothery and Dave Foster also participated. All of B612's songs tell the story of various characters from the book, and each singer plays a role.

The second album is Spectrum (2022), again a concept album, this time inspired by his personal life and his experience as a father of an autistic son. A sort of intimate journey and dialogue imagined between him and his son, looking for a contact, inventing new ways to reach each other every day. Steve and Jennifer Rothery also participate in this album.

Riccardo has always been a huge Marillion fan and his musical history is often intertwined with his favorite band. In addition to playing with Steve Rothery, he also had the honor of already being the opening act for a European Marillion tour (where he also replaced Mark Kelly for one evening due to an accident!).
