A Day's Work
  www.adayswork.nl
Coming from Alkmaar, the Netherlands, A Day's Work has been working very hard the past 4 years. This resulted in acclaimed performances at Melkweg, Paradiso and the Parkpop Festival. Top chart positions on Radio Kink FM's Outlaw 41 have made them known in the Dutch clubscene.
They also have supported bands like Sense Field (US), Cave In (US), Racoon (NL), Snow Patrol (UK) and of course Marillion on their 'Not Quite Christmas Tour' in 2005. This October they will support Riverside (PL) in Essen, Germany.
A Day's Work is characterised by it's energetic live performance, strong vocals, powerful guitars and catchy melodic songs. Their DAWA records debut album 'A Home In The Rain' is now available in the stores in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. And of course it can also be ordered online on the internet.

The Fabulous Wannabeatles
  www.tfwb.nl
In 2002, Beatles freaks, Thijs van Leeuwen en Floor de Gooijer, decide to spend their holiday practising Beatle's numbers. Thijs takes on the part of George Harrison, and Floor the part of John Lennon.
It sounds great and the idea of forming a Beatles tribute band starts to take shape.
They ask Niels-Jan van Dijk if he will play the bass guitar and sing the vocal parts of Paul McCartney, and later on, when Arjan van Helden gets behind the drums to play Ringo Star, The Fabulous Wannabeatles are born. After a couple of successful live appearances the band starts looking for a keyboard player: Egbert Eilander joins the band as Billy Preston, the guy who played keys on several Beatle numbers. Since Egbert can reproduce wind and string instrument sounds, they can now also play the more intricately orchestrated numbers of the Beatles' later period.
During their stage performances they refer to each other as John, George, Paul, Ringo and Billy; they use, as much as possible, the same instruments and equipment as the Beatles used. Even their clothes, with their Beatles suits and boots in the first set and the Sgt. Pepper suits in the second set, fit the bill completely.
The average age of the band is 24, the same as the Beatles' at that time. Because of their flawless reproduction of the sound and feeling of the Beatles and because they are playing more and more gigs, the Fabulous Wannabeatles are becoming more widely known.
The Fabulous Wannabeatles bring you a piece of music history: Beatle music from “She loves you” up to and including “Get Back” performed by a group of enthusiastic and richly talented young musicians.

Gazpacho

Norwegian band Gazpacho is well known to many of you as they have supported Marillion all over mainland europe on the Marbles tour and on a part of the NQC tour. Three albums released to rave reviews and increasing success in all corners of the world has led them to record their 4th CD in as many years. They have gone underground in their Oslo recording studio these days but will take a break to come to join the fun in Holland.

Jason Hart
  www.jasonhart.net
As a child, Jason won numerous piano competitions throughout the South but became bored with the discipline of learning the 'classics' and started writing his own songs. Early compositions were influenced by an odd mixture of musical theater and 'progressive' rock groups like Yes, Rush and Genesis. To this day, Jason's writing references elements of these diverse styles, as well as his favorite singer/songwriters, from Joni Mitchell and Elton John to Tori Amos and Rufus Wainwright.
Several years of intensive labor and thought have culminated in the birth of his proudest achievement, a full-length CD entitled "If I Were You": twelve dynamic compositions that bravely convey a lifetime of experience and emotion. Jason's heartfelt vocals and extraordinary keyboard work are supported by strings, drums, bass, guitar, sax, harmonica and flute...as well as several special guest vocalists...musical tapestries which touch the heart and stir the soul.
Jason was for many years the pianist for the New York pop/cabaret supergroup Antony and the Johnsons, and most recently has toured as keyboardist and back-up vocalist for Rufus Wainwright. He has also performed extensively with Spanish pop icon Nacho Cano, as well as the acclaimed French singer/songwriter Keren Ann. Jason has appeared with Moby, Lou Reed, Elton John, Liza Minelli, the B52's, Kris Kristofferson and other pop luminaries, and has been seen on David Letterman, Conan O'Brien, Good Morning New York, Sabado Gigante (Mexico), the Frank Skinner show (UK), plus many television performances in Spain.

Following a six year break, Mr. So & So have returned with a new line up and a collection of new and existing material. The band are due in the studio early 2007 and the Marillion weekend will give a glimpse of what to expect from their fourth album as well as many of the songs the band played while supporting Marillion.

The Sad Song Co.
  www.thesadsongco.com | uk.myspace.com/thesadsongco
The Sad Song Co. is, for the most part, the brainchild of Nigel Powell. Nigel used to be in the band Unbelievable Truth, mainly as a drummer, although he also co-wrote, played all of the keyboards and a fair proportion of the guitars and even a couple of songs on bass, did the string arrangements, and produced the albums. Their first album Almost Here (1998) was loved by critics and sold more than 100,000 copies worldwide, with extensive touring including an invitation to support Tori Amos on her Songs From The Choirgirl Hotel tour in 1998. Personnel changes at Virgin Records saw the darker and edgier follow-up sorrythankyou (2000) come out on Oxford indie Shifty Disco. The album more than satisfied the fanbase but the half-hearted promotional campaign meant it stayed a cult item, although still selling in excess of 20,000.
When the band broke up in September 2000, he first mixed the epic 35-song double CD send off Misc. Music for release in 2001, then busied himself playing gigs with Mark Mulcahy (appearing briefly on his Smile Sunset album) and Emm Gryner, and finally turned his attention to putting the bits and pieces together that he had written into an album, with Jason Moulster, Unbelievable Truth bassist and guitarist, coming in to contribute bass and a valuable perspective. That's the last we'll speak of Jason, since he likes to keep a low profile.
This became the debut 'miseryguts', released in August 2003. It emphasised Nigel's love for early Genesis, I.Q. and Marillion, while retaining the emotional directness and atmosphere of Elvis Costello, Ben Folds and cult heroes Hugo Largo who had informed much of Unbelievable Truth's work.
An insane touring schedule with rising Oxford stars Dive Dive for whom Nigel now drums (which has resulted in two singles breaking the independent top 10) and producing albums for excellent Belgian singer-songwriter Milow and ex-Unbelievable Truth singer Andy Yorke has delayed the follow up. Mark Kelly and the rest of Marillion very kindly allowed Nigel to use their Racket studio while they were touring 'Marbles', which allowed him to record the drum tracks with Radiohead engineer Graeme Stewart, but so far the rest of the instrumentation has not been completed. Nigel's hoping to get into the studio with George Shilling (Bernard Butler, Primal Scream, Yazz!) in the near future to finally finish the damn thing.

Steve Thorne
  www.steve-thorne.com
Steve Thorne is a musician/singer/songwriter based in the south of England. He released his debut album, “Emotional Creatures Part 1” on the GEP label early 2005. The album has guest musicians, Tony Levin (King Crimson) Geoff Downes (Asia, Yes) and Nick D’Virgilio, (Tears For Fears, and Spocks Beard) as well as others adding their talents to the project, and he also played bass, keyboard, and guitars on most of the tracks himself. The album has received many good reviews both at home and abroad, and there is a steadily growing list of fans eagerly awaiting the release of Part 2.  Due for release late Feb 2007, Part 2  features Pete Trewavas  playing bass on a couple of tracks as well as the guests from Part 1.
Since the release, he has been touring Europe, mainly as a support act, and has been well received on his travels  He toured for nearly a month with Pendragon earlier this year, and has also played support to Jadis, Steve Lukather (Toto) and Kino. At present, Steve plays his set solo, but is hoping to go out fully banded later next year…
